Drawings

George Harrison (Drawing Etude Part One)

I wanted to improve my drawing skills, and so I undertook a series of increasingly difficult drawings. This is the first of three in that series.

In this piece I wanted to practice a coloured pencil technique that involves laying down a vibrant colour, then blending a more neutral skin tone on top. The resulting drawing exaggerates the colours of the original reference photo, bringing forth a more whimsical and cartoonish characteristic.

This drawing is coloured pencil on paper. I used a reference photo.
